ORLANDO, Fla. (May 13, 2020) – As of May 13, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida has reopened five more of its retail stores, and Thursday, will open its brand-new Lady Lake location. The nonprofit will reopen another group of stores, plus its remaining Donation Xpress Centers, on Friday, May 15.

New safety measures, such as one-way aisles, plexiglass partitions at the registers and limited shopper capacity, will be in place at all reopened stores. In addition, employees will be wearing facemasks and gloves. Dressing rooms will be closed, and as a result, the return policy will be extended to 14 days.

Goodwill’s retail stores are the main source of funding for its employment services, which include career counseling, vocational training and job placement. Ninety cents of every dollar in revenue goes directly to support employment assistance in Central Florida.

“We’re excited to be welcoming back our loyal shoppers and donors – and meeting new ones at our Lady Lake store,” said Kim Praniewicz, senior director of marketing and communications. “Their support makes it possible for Goodwill to build lives that work. With unemployment skyrocketing, our job connection services are needed now more than ever – and our generous donors and shoppers help to make those resources possible.”
