Pamela began her journey while in her senior year at the University of Central Florida (UCF), relying on a Wisely card for income from Goodwill and displaying commendable savings habits despite lacking traditional banking services.
In May 2023, Pamela graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Actuarial Science. Eager to continue her educational pursuits, she wasted no time in expressing her interest in the Goodwill Scholars program, a unique benefit for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida employees. This program offers Goodwill employees the opportunity to enroll in a public Florida accredited college, university, or trade school without having to pay the upfront costs of tuition and other fees.
Currently, Pamela is passionately pursuing a graduate certificate in Online Financial Mathematics at UCF, driven by her unwavering enthusiasm and determination. Alongside her academic endeavors, Prosperity Planner Sandra Marrero provided guidance on credit building and assisted Pamela in opening both checking and savings accounts.
Today, Pamela not only maintains robust savings but also boasts an impressive credit score in the high 700s. With her eyes set on completing the graduate certificate program, she aspires to join a company that values her expertise and provides opportunities to excel in her field.
