Throughout September, Goodwill Central Florida shoppers had the opportunity to support Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) through our Round-Up campaign. Guests were invited to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar in support of OURM and its mission to provide long-term transitional shelter, meals, workforce development, education, daycare and other essential services. Through these programs, OURM helps individuals and families experiencing homelessness work toward long-term stability.

On Monday, November 2nd, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida visited Orlando Union Rescue Mission (OURM) at 1521 W. Washington St. in Orlando to present a check representing the generous contributions made by shoppers during the Round-Up campaign. Thanks to our shoppers’ generosity, $24,595.65 was raised at participating Goodwill Central Florida stores, with an additional $10,000 match from GICF, bringing the total contribution to $34,595.65.  This money will be used to fund shelter, meals, and job search programs at OURM.

The partnership between Goodwill and OURM extends beyond fundraising efforts. Through Goodwill’s Prosperity Platform program, OURM guests have access to one-on-one coaching to help identify personal and career goals and connect with resources that support economic mobility and self-sufficiency.
