Good Will

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida offers life-changing services to those in need. In 2014, we provided over 42,000 people with job training – helping them address barriers such as disabilities, homelessness and lack of skills so they can enter or re-enter the workforce. These services helped place over 7,000 people in jobs last year. Download our Services brochure.

Our services include:

Job Skills

  • Vocational Evaluation – Reviewing participants' strengths and work aptitude and matching them to suitable jobs.
  • B.E.S.T. Program – Training in topics such as math, grammar, data entry, phone etiquette, receptionist skills and computer software. View flyer.
  • Homeless Services – Helping participants find long-term work so they can move to permanent homes. Services include assessment, counseling, placement and follow up.
  • Goodworks Program & Job Connections – Resources to help inmates find jobs – including computer labs, job leads, resource libraries, interview prep and vocational assessment.
  • Direct Placement Services – Career counseling, training, job matching, coaching and follow-up services for people with disabilities.
  • Employee Development Services – Temporary work, goal-oriented counseling and recognition of participants' milestones.
  • Computer Skills Training – The Computer Skills Training program assists participants with group-based instruction in a variety of topics in fundamental computer skills such as Introduction to Computers and Microsoft Word® to help participants successfully compete in today’s job market.   • ESOL Classes – English for Speakers of Other Languages - this program focuses on proper language skills and grammar for the workplace.
  • Neighborhood Centers for Families – Employability skills training, resume development, career planning, job development, and various referrals.

Youth Programs

  • Project COMPASS – Helping non-violent offenders ages 14 through 18 to develop solid study habits and complete a curriculum program.
  • GoodGuides – Mentoring that encourages healthy behaviors and successful outcomes.
  • Work Activity Center – Training in pre-vocational skills for 19- to 22-year-old students with disabilities.
  • Career Connections Youth Program – Goodwill's Career Connection – CareerSource Central Florida Youth Program - Operated under an 18 month grant, Goodwill is one of the collaborative partners among five service providers partnering with CareerSource Central Florida Youth Program to provide a year-round program that engages eligible youth ages 16-18 in attaining exclusive job training opportunities and more. Youth will receive a holistic system of services that will include education and academic remediation, training in employability, life and leadership skills, career counseling and exploration, work experience, adult mentoring , paid summer employment and supportive services. To continue this year-round program, we are targeting enrollment of eligible high school seniors, who will gain career-seeking skills to prepare for entry into the workplace, to pursue post-secondary education, or to obtain additional job training.
