Goodwill recognizes the importance of solar energy as a sustainable, long-term solution for powering our locations throughout Central Florida.
In April 2014, Goodwill installed our first solar project - a 14,000-square-foot rooftop array on our Waterford Lakes Retail Store. Then, in June 2015, a rooftop solar array was installed on our Oviedo store. Since then, the array has supplied approximately 76% of the store's total energy and saves more than $20,000 a year in electricity. And those savings translate into real value for people in our community.
Every dollar Goodwill saves by using solar energy is diverted back to helping individuals in Central Florida find work.
