Taylor holds up her college degree#MissionMoment: We love to celebrate the achievements of our dedicated team members at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. We’re thrilled to share the inspiring story of Taylor, whose journey through our Prosperity Platform program showcases self-sufficiency and determination.

Taylor’s connection with Goodwill began in August 2020 when she joined us as a high school junior. Not just content with excelling in one educational institution, Taylor took on the challenge of dual enrollment, attending high school and college simultaneously. This smart move allowed her to begin her college education without the burden of tuition fees, as dual enrollment waives college tuition.

Taylor’s drive and clear vision for her future stood out early on. While she participated in the Prosperity Platform program, she mainly utilized the scholarship assistance provided, knowing exactly what she wanted to achieve. Initially guided by Prosperity Planners David Watson II and later by Danika Hansen, Taylor made significant strides in her educational journey.

As she approached high school graduation, Goodwill introduced the Goodwill Scholars program, an employee tuition scholarship assistance available to Goodwill employees through the Prosperity Planning platform. Taylor seized this opportunity and worked closely with her Prosperity Planner at Goodwill to map out her financial needs for the remainder of her college education. Through this program, Goodwill covered her tuition costs for both her junior and senior years in full.

In May, Taylor graduated from Daytona State College with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management. What makes her achievement even more remarkable is that she graduated debt-free, a testament to her hard work and the support from Goodwill’s Goodwill Scholars employee benefit.

Taylor’s story is a shining example of what can be achieved with determination and the right support. She is now ready to embark on her career journey, free from the financial strain of student loans. We are incredibly proud of Taylor and all that she has accomplished. Congratulations on your graduation and all your future endeavors, Taylor!
